Disney's 'Frozen' interactive Ice Palace debuts Thursday at Mall at UTC
UNIVERSITY PARK -- Shoppers at The Mall at University Town Center will soon be belting out "Let It Go" along with aspiring Elsas in a new Disney "Frozen" Ice Palace.
Taubman Centers, the mall's manager, has partnered with Disney to bring an Ice Palace to 10 of its malls, including Mall at UTC, to help promote the release of the "Frozen" sing-along DVD on Nov. 18. The "Frozen" experience will run from Thursday to Dec. 24. The palace will be open during regular mall hours, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
"We are committed to bringing our shoppers the very best interactive experiences," said Glenda Cole, Taubman's vice president of sponsorship and center marketing. "Every child who fell in love with 'Frozen' will delight in playing in a magical snowfall in the Ice Palace while singing along to the beloved songs on the new Disney Frozen Sing-Along Edition DVD."
Inside each Ice Palace, visitors can sing like Elsa or sing one of the other popular songs from the animated feature, view scenes of the movie, create a "Frozen" handprint, take a photo of Olaf on his ice throne and see if you are as tall as Sven and Olaf along with other features.
Of course, each Ice Palace includes a gift shop with toys, dress-up items and the "Frozen" DVD.
Santa Claus will also be on hand at the Ice Palace inside the Mall at UTC, and visitors to Santa will receive a complimentary Disney "Frozen" "Look and Find" book.
