Dillard's to give away $25,000 worth of prizes during Mall at University Town Center grand opening

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Dillard's is pulling out all the stops for its first new store opening since 2010.

The Little Rock, Ark., retailer announced a slew of store events and giveaways for its Mall at University Town Center store set to open Oct. 16.

The ribbon will be cut at 9:45 a.m. Oct 16 at the west entrance followed by a Dillard's Lucky Key Event in which the store will give away more than $25,000 in prizes. Shoppers will participate in store activities to receive keys that could open a treasure chest of fashion.

More money will be given away through an event from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 17. Passport to Fashion gives shoppers a chance to meet Dillard's buyers and visit experts wearing a "Passport to Fashion" lanyard. The experts will introduce shoppers to the new look and when the passport is complete, shoppers can drop it off at the registration box by the mall entrance for a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree.

From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 18, shoppers can register to win a shopping spree as the store gives away more than $5,500 in prizes.

11 a.m. Meet Arthur Levine, designer of Tahari ASL, and

Alexandra Dillard, corporate merchandise manager at a career fashion show.

Noon to 4 p.m. Meet Francine Porter, creator of Osmotics, a non-surgical facelift product.

1 p.m. Meet Nicole Miller at the Nicole Miller Artelier Fashion Show previewing her fall collection.

4 p.m. Meet Elan Savir for the Elan International Fashion Show.

7 p.m. Meet Gail Hail Hartin, designer for Fresh Produce at a store fashion show.

Oct. 17

Noon to 5 p.m. Lancome offers an opportunity to learn beauty tips from beauty and trend expert Mickey Williams.

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Meet Fredis Velasquez, Diorshow artist as he gives cosmetics tips.

11 a.m. Meet Ashley Tinsley, designer of Ruby Rd., and John Bourgeois, designer of Multiples and Ali Miles, as they co-host a Trend Fashion Show featuring missy, petites and women's clothes.

2 p.m. Meet Connie Kye, designer for IC Collection following the fashion show.

7 p.m. Exclusive brands fashion show of items only available at Dillard's.

Oct. 18

1 p.m. Meet Cliff Boone, head designer for Adrianna Papell; Marina Bresler, designer for Betsy & Adam; Jeanne Brizel, creative director of design for Alex Evenings; and Henry Picado, design director for JS Collections during the Dress Designer Fashion Show.

3 p.m. Juniors Fall Fashion Show. Receive a personal dress consultation from the Blondie Nites representative after the show.
