Vince Camuto to open first Florida Gulf Coast store in Mall at University Town Center
UNIVERSITY PARK -- Luxury clothing and shoe store Vince Camuto will open a new boutique inside the Mall at University Town Center while Forever Flawless will build its first Florida store in the mall.
The company filed a building application Monday with Sarasota County for a 1,800-square-foot space on the second floor of the mall across from Saks Fifth Avenue.
This will be the first Vince Camuto store on Florida's Gulf Coast. Vince Camuto's other Florida stores are at the Dadeland Mall Miami and Boca Town Center, in Boca Raton.
The store offers tops, pants, watches, handbags and shoes that can range in price from $70 to more than $250.
Camuto, a native of New York City, is best known for co-founding the brand Nine West in 1978 and growing the brand's fashion lines. He became CEO of the company in 1993 when Nine West Group went public.
In 1999, Nine West was sold to Jones Apparel Group, which makes Jones New York.
In 2001, Camuto started the Camuto Group and partnered with Tory Burch in 2006 to start the Reva ballet flat. And in 2005, he purchased the master license for the Jessica Simpson Collection.
His other brands include BCBG Maxazria, Lucky Brand, Sanctuary and Arturo Chiang.
Forever Flawless also applied for a building application Tuesday for a 1,700-square-foot boutique on the second floor beside Macy's.
The Las Vegas cosmetics company sells diamond-infused skin care products and provides services to customers using microdermabrasion to remove dead skin cells. This will be the first Florida company store for Forever Flawless, which has about 24 stores in the United States.
The two-level, upscale Mall at University Town Center is set to open Oct. 16 with Dillard's, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Apple and Michael Kors.
