Bradenton J.C. Penney takes home top award from company

PLANO, Texas -- The J.C. Penney store at DeSoto Square Mall won a Founder's Award for meeting or exceeding all of its performance goals.

The Founder's Award is the company's highest distinction for excellence. Marvin R. Ellison, chief executive officer, and Joe McFarland, executive vice president of stores, presented managers with a commemorative plaques during a special ceremony in Texas. Vincent Joy, the general manager for the store at the Bradenton mall, accepted the award for the local store.

Only 102 of approximately 1,000 stores, six out of 52 districts and three out of 13 supply chain facilities receive the award. One other Florida store, the Clermont Landing store in Clermont Fl, also took home an award. The Lakeland Logistics Facility and the Tampa district also received founder's awards.

"I'm proud of our team of dedicated associates who are committed to delivering excellent service and an engaging store environment that compels customers to return time and time again," said George Williams, Tampa district manager. "We are truly honored to receive this Company recognition on behalf of our local shoppers, who have trusted us with their loyalty and continued patronage. We look forward to another successful year in 2016."
