Gov. Scott announces $175,000 grant for Port Manatee Commerce Center
MANATEE -- The $357,000 Port Manatee Commerce Center project will get a $175,000 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation, according to Florida Gov. Rick Scott.
"I'm committed to ensuring that our transportation projects create more jobs for Florida families," said Scott in a press release issued Monday.
"This investment of $175,000 for Port Manatee will enhance port infrastructure and create more opportunities for families in the region," he added.
The commerce center is prepared to construct a parallel 450-linear-foot rail spur and a new, 14,000-square-foot loading ramp to expand existing bulk carrier new intermodal services, according to the release.
