There are a lot of foodie in Manatee County. And in response to customer requests for cooking programs and the popularity of other food demos, Manatee County Library System is launching a new cooking series by Chef Warren Caterson, according to a press release. The programs started today and continue through December.
Chef Caterson is award-winning cookbook author of “Table for Two: The Cookbook for Couples” and “Table for Two: Back for Seconds.” During the presentations he shares dozens of kitchen tips, cooking hints and humorous anecdotes about the joys and challenges of cooking for two.
Four more sessions are planned at the downtown and Rocky Bluff libraries in October, November and December. Better yet, each session is free, and samples will be provided.

The cuisines of Andalucía, Basque Country, Valencia, Catalonia (where Chef Warren’s first cookbook in Spain was written) will be explored.
▪ Nov. 18: Thankful Thanksgiving Cooking Demo, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the downtown Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton
Chef Warren explains how to cook a Thanksgiving meal without losing your mind and will discuss how to roast a turkey so every part comes out tender, easier ways to make gravy that is quick and lump free, how to make a large meal in a small kitchen and how to ensure your turkey stays moist when reheated.
▪ Dec. 6: Stressless Holiday Entertaining, 2-3 p.m. Rocky Bluff Library, 6750 U.S. 301 N., Ellenton.
Chef Warren demonstrates how to prepare appetizers without spending hours and shows how to prepare an entrée in less than 30 minutes that will wow your guests.
▪ Dec. 9: Cooking With Wine Demo, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the downtown Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton
Chef Warren shows how adding a little wine can add a lot of flavor.
