PIER 22 has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2017 Restaurant Awards with an Award of Excellence. The restaurant is recognized among other winners from all over the globe as a top destination for wine lovers, according to a press release.

The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.

The restaurant on Bradenton’s waterfront offers more than 185 varieties of wine.

“Restaurants continue to raise their game when it comes to wine, and we are particularly proud to present this year’s winners,” said Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher of Wine Spectator.

In the release PIER 22 Wine Director Bruce Folkins said, “PIER 22 appreciates good wine for its ability to add to our guest’ experience. All that we have accomplished in the casual-fine dining sect has been due to our distinct combination of friendly service, quality food and outstanding wine. We’re honored to receive a Restaurant Award from Wine Spectator.”
