Over the weekend, the Diverging Diamond at University Parkway and Interstate 75 opened. One local couple wants to take advantage of the diamond’s high visibility this week.

Tommy and Jaymie Klauber, proprietors at the Polo Grill and Bar, are celebrating the debut of the diamond by offering guests a complimentary appetizer with the purchase of an entrée now through the end of June, according to a release from the restaurant.

“The Diverging Diamond interchange has been a hot topic in the anticipation of its opening,” Tommy said in the release. “I’ve heard everything from anxiety, confusion, to how easy the Diamond is to navigate from our guests. With so much attention the opening of the interchange is receiving, Jaymie and I thought it would be great to offer a reward to our guests that braved and survived the Diverging Diamond from the other side of 75.”

Any Polo customer that mentions the Diverging Diamond interchange will receive a complimentary appetizer along with an “I Survived Diverging Diamond” sticker, while supplies last.

The Diverging Diamond creates a new pattern designed to manage high-volume traffic, according to Florida Department of Transportation officials.

The Polo Grill and Bar is located at 10670 Boardwalk Loop in Lakewood Ranch. For more information, call the restaurant at 941-782-0899.
