Manatee County: Fatal accident reported on Buckeye Road and U.S. 301 Friday night

MANATEE -- A 25-year-old Wimauma man was reported killed in an accident at the intersection of Buckeye Road and U.S. 301 Friday night, according to the Florida Highway State Patrol.

Ismael Villareal was driving his 2012 Dodge Journey eastbound on Buckeye Road. As he approached the stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 301, Villareal failed to stop and crossed the shoulder of the highway where he collided with a tree.

According to the FHP, the accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Villareal was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:40 p.m. by emergency responders. According to the FHP report, alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.
