Manatee wins, Southeast loses

Manatee High School beat Palm Bay Bayside 35-32 in a Class 5A-Region 3 football game tonight. The Hurricanes advance in their quest for a state championship and play St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale next week.

Manatee's cross-town rivals, Southeast High School, lost 28-21 tonight against South Fort Myers after a see-saw Class 3A-Region 3 contest.

The Noles went ahead 21-14 in the third quarter after being tied at the half. South Fort Myers scored on 69-yard pass on fake punt to tie game 21-21 with 3:19 left in fourth quarter. South Fort Myers returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown to take a 28-21 lead with just over a minute left.
