Bradenton man accused of having sex with teen

BRADENTON — A man remained in jail Wednesday on a $100,000 bond for lewd and lascivious battery after he had sex with a 15-year-old girl, according to a Bradenton Police Department arrest warrant affidavit.

Cody Michael Dean, 23, of Ellenton, had his DNA come back from a FDLE databank as a convicted offender after the girl reported a Sept. 18 incident to police. The girl said she was at a friend’s apartment drinking and smoking marijuana. She asked a 31-year-old man in the apartment complex for two aspirin and he instead gave her two Xanax pills, according to the affidavit.

The next thing the girl remembered was waking up in the bedroom of the man. Her shorts were undone and his pants were undone. The man’s girlfriend was yelling at him, according to the warrant. The girl couldn’t remember if she had sex.

The girl’s mother reported the incident to police and a sexual battery kit revealed male DNA was present, but it did not belong to the man. The match later came back to Dean, who is an acquaintance of the girl’s friend. The girl told police she remembered seeing him that evening, but did not remember having sex with Dean.
