Martin County Fire Rescue crews responded to a 66.59-acre brush fire between Indiantown and Okeechobee the afternoon of July 10.

The fire started just after 1:30 p.m. in the 27500 block of Southwest Martin Highway, the agency stated in a Facebook post. Early reports show the fire reignited from the brush fire near the Okeechobee County line July 7.

The fire was fully contained July 10, according to David Grubich, Florida Forest Service spokesperson.

Florida Forest Service crews placed plow lines around the perimeter to help contain the fire. Plow lines are when firefighters dig to the bare mineral soil to stop a fire from spreading.

The Florida Forest Service took over control of the fire, according to the post.
