Rotary Club of Palm Beach to launch rooftop jazz series June 30
A new monthly rooftop concert series debuting June 30 at Hotel AKA West Palm will raise funds for the Rotary Club of Palm Beach's scholarship and charitable programs.
The "Red Velvet Jazz Rooftop Series" will take place on the last Tuesday of each month, offering music, hospitality and social connection in an intimate rooftop setting, according to the Palm Beach-based club. Hotel AKA West Palm is at 695 S. Olive Ave. in West Palm Beach.
The June 30 launch event will feature musicians from Florida, New York City and elsewhere, along with a curated culinary experience by The Blind Monk. Guests are encouraged to wear red accents, velvet or jazz-era-inspired attire. Live music will begin at 6:30 p.m. following a welcome reception.
Club President and Chairman Paul Tripaldi said the series is the first jazz-focused program the club has launched as a recurring event rather than a one-time fundraiser.
"Rather than a single event, we thought a music series celebrating the talented jazz musicians in Palm Beach County would be fun," he told the Daily News. "There has been an overwhelmingly positive response."
The series kicks off with a show from 6 to 9 p.m. June 30. Additional concerts are scheduled for July 28, Sept. 29, Oct. 27, Nov. 24 and Dec. 29.
Tickets are $32.78 for general admission and $107.48 for VIP access and dinner, including fees and taxes, and are available by visiting EventBrite.com and searching for "Red Velvet Jazz." South Florida contemporary jazz vocalist Bianca Rosarrio is the headliner for the launch event.
Founded in 1950, the Rotary Club of Palm Beach works to serve the community, support local leaders, and promote goodwill and understanding. It marked its 75th anniversary in 2025.
The club supports a variety of organizations on the island including the Palm Beach Police & Fire Foundation, Town of Palm Beach United Way, Place of Hope and the Palm Beach Fellowship of Christians & Jews.
It also hosts fundraisers, including its Flags for Heroes event at Bradley Park, which honors military veterans and first responders. The program, co-sponsored by the Main Street Business Association, could return this year after a three-year hiatus, Tripaldi said.
