Local Roundup: Giardina, Reed lead Southeast High past Sarasota Riverview

Sophie Giardina led the way with 17 points -- including five 3s -- while Breyonna Reed tallied 16 points as visiting Southeast stopped Sarasota River in Girls basketball action Wednesday, 79-60.

Faith Mays and Tay Green each added 13 points for the Noles (2-0), who next play Monday at home against DeSoto.

Southeast also won the JV game, 42-38.
