Falcons' Justin Wynen is the Herald's Boys Golfer of the Year

To his credit: The senior led the Falcons to the Class 1A state tournament, where he caught fired with a first-round 71. That gave him a chance at a state crown., but he stumbled in the second round, still finishing a strong eighth. Wynen paced the Falcons at districts with a 74, while carding a 74 in the Donald Ross Memorial.

Fast fact: Favorite school subject is history.

Up next: Wynen is taking a year to improve his golf game with the goal of a college golf career.
