Roundup: Southeast routs Booker 8-1 in girls soccer
SARASOTA -- The visiting Southeast Seminoles put on a clinic Tuesday in an 8-1 runaway season-opening victory over Sarasota Booker in a girls prep soccer match.
Three Southeast players scored two goals apiece.
Ambriel Jones booted two goals and an assist as did Gisselle Reyes, Melissa Pineda scored two goals, and Alex Tolksdorf and Jamie Cline scored a goal apiece.
Goalkeeper Sierra Leary made six saves for the Noles, and Anna Bravo scored the lone goal for the Tornadoes.
BRADEN RIVER 2, CARDINAL MOONEY 2 -- Lexi Madrid and Camie Lizardi tallied goals for the visiting Pirates (1-1-1), while Dyllan Allen notched her first career assist.
OUT-OF-DOOR ACADEMY 6, SARASOTA CHRISTIAN 0 -- Natalie Gorji led the visiting Thunder with a hat trick, while Nicole Petron, Kat Pacitti and Abby LaGasse had a goal each. Madisyn Opstal added a pair of assists for ODA, while keeper Chloe Spingler got the shutout with three saves.
Boys soccer
BRADEN RIVER 5, SARASOTA MILITARY ACADEMY 1 -- Domenic Aluise registered a hat trick, and Kemal Indandi scored the other two goals to lead the visiting Pirates (1-1) over the Eagles.
Aluise had two assists, and Oswaldo Herrera, Nicholas Anderson and Adrian Aguayo each had an assist.
Girls basketball
LAKEWOOD RANCH 46, ST. PETERSBURG LAKEWOOD 37 -- The Mustangs defeated the Spartans in a preseason contest hosted at Strawberry Crest High in Dover.
LaDazhia Williams, a junior, had a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 19 rebounds for the Mustangs. Classmate Aleah Robinson added 10 points.
