BRADENTON -- Bradenton concert pianist Charles Harnish will play the first movement of the Grieg "Piano Concerto" with the Sarasota Concert Band at 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at Hope Lutheran Church.

Founded by John Ringling, the Sarasota Concert Band is in its sixth decade performing a varied repertoire of classical and popular music with a distinctive American sound.

Other symphonic favorites on the program are "Egmont Overture" by Beethoven, "New World Symphony" by Dvorak, and "Captains and Kings" by Anderson.

For the contemporary portion, the Sarasota Concert Band will perform music of the Beatles and selections from "The Sound of Music."
