Ninth annual Spyder Broussard Low Country, East County, Fish Fry & Shrimp Boil

For one night only, Polo Grill and Bar transforms into a Cajun celebration of fresh seafood, live music and New Orleans excitement. The Ninth annual Spyder Broussard Low Country, East County, Fish Fry and Shrimp Boil begins at 6:30 p.m. July 16. Broussard, a Louisiana native, and Chef Tommy Klauber will join forces to create a sensational buffet featuring Cajun and Creole favorites such as Zatarain’s boiled shrimp with sweet corn and andouille sausage, Central Grocery-style muffulettas, barbecue brisket sliders and crawfish corn dogs with honey mustard. “Thailand” culinary presentation

The Asian Women’s Club of Lakewood Ranch is hosting a culinary presentation on the flavors and foods of Thailand at 7 p.m. June 29 at the Lakewood Ranch Town Hall, 8175 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. Learn how to prepare stir-fried vegetarian coconut noodles followed by a tasting of the classic Thai dish. Walking progressive dinner

Taste Dining & Travel Magazine is hosting a walking progressive dinner beginning at 6:15 p.m. June 29 at the Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota. Meet at 6:15 p.m. at Brio for appetizers with a two glasses of wine or Mojito tasting. A salad and entree course with two glasses of wine will be at Seasons 52 featuring salad of organic field greens and entrée tastings including a taste of cedar plank roasted salmon, grilled flat iron steak or all-natural roasted half-chicken. Lastly, desserts and coffee at the Cheesecake Factory. Reservations are a must. Cost is $75 per person which includes the full meal, tax, gratuity and charity donation. Arts & Eats Jazz Dinner will resume for the off-season on the second and fourth Mondays until the end of August from 6-9 p.m. featuring Studio Kitchen with Chef Jim on bass. The $30 price-fixed menu will include soup or salad and a choice of four entrees. including a Mexican Bowl with refried black beans, rice, pulled pork, guacamole, tomato salsa, and fish and chips. Blue Mondays at Yo! Sushi
