Arts & Eats offers a $40 prix fixe Mother's Day dinner 4-7 p.m. May 8 with music by Patti Katz Black. Entree choices include seven-spice pompano with citrus butter, garlic goat cheese ravioli, scallops with truffle butter and more. The restaurant is at 1114 12th St. W., Bradenton. The Riverhouse Reef & Grill offers a special expanded brunch buffet May 8. Seating times are 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. There will be seating on the first and second floor. The Seafood Shack Marina, Bar & Grill, 4110 127th St. W., Cortez, is hosting a Mother's Day brunch buffet from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 8 in the Neptune Room. The buffet includes eggs Benedict, house-cured smoked salmon and fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits with sausage gravy; a warm entree station with grilled local fresh catch and the Shack's signature shrimp and grits; a steamship beef carving station and more. In addition, there will be a selection of assorted pastries and dessert and a full bar. A children's menu is also available. There will be a complimentary photo area with professional photographer, live musical entertainment by jazz singer Sarah Combs, and a social media contest with a prize valued at $100. Menu items include stuffed french toast with berry cream cheese filling, warm syrup; salmon frittata poached salmn, roasted red peppers, scallions, tomatoes, cream cheese; signature eggs Benedict. Lunch specials 11 a.m.-3 p.m.: roasted corn and crab chowder with cilantro; turkey sandwich with oven-roasted turkey, bacon, green apple and Brie on rustic bread; pizza rustica with prosciutto, salami, ricotta, Parmesan, and rustic tomato sauce; pizza mama with broccoli, roasted red bell peppers, mushrooms, char-grilled tomatoes, zucchini spread, and mozzarella. Kentucky Derby Bash: The Polo Grill, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch, is hosting it's annual "Ultimate Derby Party" for race fans and first-time viewers. Join the fun, starting at 4:30 p.m. May 7. Attendees will receive complimentary servings of traditional derby fare, including baby hot browns, hand biscuits, Kentucky burgoo and grit cakes. mint juleps and Early Times bourbon cocktails will be offered. The Preakness Stakes will be celebrated May 21 and the Belmont Stakes on June 11.
