Easter Brunch

Powel Crosley Estate: Two seatings, at 10 am and 12:30 p.m., either inside the mansion or next to the bay with private tables. Breakfast and brunch menu items including chef omlette station, Belgium waffles and fresh fruit, shrimp and our popular smoked salmon trio, mac and cheese station (for all of us kids); Easter ham and selection of chicken, an abundant assortment of fresh salads, vegan quinoa selection and delicious desserts. Adults, $42; childern from 3 to 10, $24; toddlers and infants are complimentary.

Pier 22: Features an Easter Brunch Buffet and Dinner Specials on the patio and in the ballroom, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on March 27. The Brunch Buffet includes a ham and prime rib carving station, eggs benedict, sushi display, omelet station, shrimp and grits, sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, oysters, fresh fruit, breakfast potatoes, Danishes, pastries, desserts and more. Adults, $32.95; children under 12, $14.95.

Easter Dinner Specials, from 4 p.m., feature an 8-, 12- or 16-ounce prime rib dinner slowly cooked and hand carved to order, served with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus plus the full dinner menu.

Discount fine dining: The Sarasota-Manatee Originals kicks off its first-quarter discount dining certificates at 7 a.m. March 3. The Originals organization features more than 55 different restaurants throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. Be ready to purchase through the dineoriginal.com website a few minutes before 7 a.m. as many of the more popular choices sell out within the first few hours. An Originals discount dining certificate saves you 30 percent at your favorite local, independently owned restaurant.

Here's a list of the discount certificate options: $50 certificate priced at $35; $25 certificate, $17.50; $20 certificate, $14; $15 certificate, $11. Certificates can be printed on your home computer, or delivered to your email address immediately after purchase. They are valid for six months from purchase date for the food portion of your restaurant bill. One certificate may be redeemed per table per visit.

St Patrick's: Pier 22 celebrates St. Patrick's Day on March 17 with traditional Irish food and drink specials such as a Corned Beef Sandwich with Swiss cheese on wheat for lunch and Corned Beef and Cabbage with potatoes and vegetables for lunch and dinner. Clancy's weekly specials: Clancy's Irish Sports Pub, 6218 Cortez Road, Bradenton, is offering new weekly daily specials. Monday is pasta night with dinner for two and a bottle of wine for $19.99. Risotto special: A "Tale of Two Risottos" brings two bellissimo dishes to guests of BRIO Tuscan Grille at International Plaza in Tampa & The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota, through March 27, for only $19.95 each. Storied dishes include a broiled Maine lobster tail served over risotto with shrimp, mushrooms, asparagus, roasted red peppers, basil and Parmesan cheese. Five large sea scallops will served over a roasted vegetable ratatouille risotto.

Jazz dinner: Hot Jazz At Arts & Eats! Beat the start of the week blues with Arts & Eats' Monday Jazz Dinner from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy the music of Studio Kitchen Jazz Quintet with Chef Jim Copening on bass (when he can get out of the kitchen), Jim Martin on piano, Mark Mitchell on flute and sax, Jerry York on drums, and Nick Haas on guitar. Jazz brunch: The Sandbar's Sunday Jazz Brunch features nationally recognized, top local jazz musicians. The menu, served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., includes items made with farm-to-fork produce along with fresh gulf seafood, breads made on site and drinks made with fresh fruits. COOKING CLASSES

Italian dishes: Giuliano Hazan, chef, teacher, cookbook author and son of Italian culinary legend Marcella Hazan, continues his series of intimate Italian cooking classes in 2016. Recipient of the coveted "Cooking Teacher of the Year" award from the International Association of Culinary Professionals, Hazan is the author of five cookbooks. Hazan and his wife, Lael Hazan, a food historian, will open their Sarasota riverside home to a maximum of nine participants per class. Guided by Hazan, attendees will prepare a four-course Italian meal, which will be enjoyed at the table and paired with select Italian wines.
