THANKSGIVING

Blu Mangrove, 102 Riviera Dunes Way, Palmetto, is offering a limited holiday menu 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 26. The three-course prix fixe menu includes entree choices of roasted turkey, roast beef or sockeye salmon filet with traditional sides. Cost: $28 per person, $14 for children age 12 and younger. Michael's On East Restaurant, 1212 S. East Ave., Sarasota, is accepting holiday reservations for Thanksgiving. The restaurant will offer a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings for $28.95 per person, 2-8 p.m. Nov. 26. In addition to the turkey feature which includes mashed potatoes, pan gravy, candied sweet potatoes, green beans, dried cranberry and cornbread stuffing, a special holiday menu is available offering signature Michael's On East favorites a la carte. The Capital Grille will open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, offering its full dinner menu in addition to the executive chef's take on a traditional Thanksgiving meal -- slow-roasted turkey from Planfield Farm with brioche stuffing, French green beans with Marcona almonds and cranberry pear chutney. Cost is $36 per adult and $15 per child. These dishes will also be accompanied by Sam's mashed potatoes to share. Polo Grill, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch, is offering a Thanksgiving Day Buffet noon-5 p.m. featuring carving stations, seafood display, garden salad stations and more side dishes than before. Polo Grill offers two ways to make Thanksgiving a little easier: the sumptuous Thanksgiving Day Buffet and the Thanksgiving Carry-Out Menu. Enjoy course after course of your favorite traditional Thanksgiving dinner dishes along with beautiful and flavorful culinary creations. Buffet is $39.95 for adults, $19.95 for children under 12. Price does not include tax, 20 percent gratuity and beverages. Carry-out is $39.95 per person, minimum 8 people. SPECIAL EVENTS

Arts & Eats celebrates France: As the world grieves over the events in Paris, Arts & Eats shares its love for the culinary arts of France by serving Crepes Suzette tableside. A portion of proceeds from sale of the dessert will be donated to causes related to aid for those effected by the attacks. The restaurant is in the Village of the Arts at 1114 12th St. W., Bradenton. St. Andrew's Day Scottish Festival: MacAllisters Grill & Tavern, 8110 Main Street, Lakewood Ranch, is holding a St. Andrew's Day Scottish Festival 5-10 p.m. Nov. 28. Belhaven Brewery will be giving out samples of some great Scottish beers and if you like something a little stronger, check out the Johnny Walker Scotch Whiskey samples. There will be live music on the patio as well as the Braden River Pipers, face-painting for kids (and adults too) and haggis tasting. No reservations necessary.

2015 Fall Semester Beer & Food Tasting Finale: SCF Introduction to Beer Science Instructor Joe Askren says his students are letting their imaginations and taste buds guide them as they approach the 2015 Fall Semester Beer & Food Tasting Finale Event from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus, 8350 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. The event will begin at 5 p.m. at Selby Auditorium on the USFSM campus with a round-table discussion involving master brewers, including from Big Top Brewing Co., Avid Brew Co., Darwin Brewing Co., Green Bench Brewing Co. and Cigar City Brewing. After that, attendees can sample the handiwork of the seven teams of students in the courtyard outside Jonathan's Cafe. Each table will provide food, beer and a description about how that beer was made. The students will be on hand to answer questions. The event is open to the public. ON THE MENU

Table Creekside new fall menu: The Table Creekside, renowned for its global cuisine, launched new menus selections to welcome autumn. These new dishes feature fresh, innovative seasonal flavors as well as well as putting a new twist on some old favorites. Some of the new menu favorites include offerings such as the short rib rangoon, porqueta stack, heirloom beet carpaccio and new flavors were introduced to the Napa grilled octopus. Fresh and new additions to the regular dinner menu include braised short ribs, Texas de Korea, Pacific mixed grill, Colorado beef pho, roasted suckling pig, domestic rack of lamb and oven roasted branzino. Louies Modern new fall menus: Louies Modern, 1289 N. Palm Ave., Sarasota, presents new lunch, dinner and happy hour menus with fan favorites and new flavors to love, as well as a bevy of new beverages and a special menu for theatre-goers. This season, Louies is proud to offer bay scallops from Maine, squid from Rhode Island, scallops from Virginia Beach, and those beloved Cedar Key Florida clams. This season's offerings include comfort-food flavors like Nantucket Bay chowder with leeks, butternut squash, and fruitwood smoked bay scallops, and poached pear-fennel shortbread with melted Van Gogh gouda, and Porcini doughnuts with Moody Blue fondue, bluefin tuna kabayaki and vegan farro minestra with roasted heirloom carrot-tomato bisque, minted Marcona almonds; and Anthony Bourdain's Honey-Agave Chicken with double-beet spaetzle, baby kale, citrus, and goat cheese. Jazz brunch: The Sandbar's Sunday Jazz Brunch features nationally recognized, top local jazz musicians.
