I'm a firm believer that the kitchen should make you happy. After all, it's one of the most-used rooms in the house, and if I'm going to spend time cooking, unloading the dishwasher, and wondering what's for dinner every night, I might as well enjoy looking around while I do it. That's why I'm always finding little ways to add pops of color wherever I can. Maybe it's a cheerful tea towel, a colorful mixing bowl or a fun serving platter that makes me smile every time I reach for it.

There's something to be said for those little dopamine hits. A splash of color can make a kitchen feel more welcoming and personal. And while I'm not claiming that a pretty kitchen can improve your cooking skills, I do think food tastes better when you're in a good mood. At the very least, it makes meal prep feel a bit more enjoyable.

Crofton 3-Pack of Ceramic Frying Pans, Lilac, $24.99 at Aldi

As soon as I laid eyes on this lilac cookware set from Aldi, I knew I had to make it mine. For $24.99, you get three ceramic frying pans in three sizes, so there's a frying pan for just about any meal you're making. And the lilac colorway is a real stunner.

Ceramic pans are popular because they combine easy, nonstick cooking with simple cleanup. Foods release easily, which means you can often use less oil or butter, and you'll love that ceramic-coated cookware is typically made without chemicals that don't belong anywhere near your food. They also tend to heat evenly, which is a huge plus for any home cook.

Over on Reddit, there's a lot of discussion about Aldi's Crofton cookware, and the ceramic pieces really get great reviews.

"I bought a Crofton ceramic pan a few months back and it's become one of my everyday pans," says a Redditor in a thread. "It's held up to lots of use, has kept its shape, and is really easy to clean."

They mention that they use the Crofton ceramic pan as often as their go-to cast iron skillet, which was previously their go-to everyday workhorse. However, they note that the ceramic pan is a lot lighter to hold and definitely easier to clean.

The best way to clean a ceramic frying pan is to let it cool completely, then wash it with warm water, a soft sponge and a little dish soap. Ceramic coatings are naturally nonstick, so food residue comes off without much scrubbing. If something is stuck on, try soaking the pan in warm, soapy water for 10 to 15 minutes rather than reaching for an abrasive scrubber. A little extra care goes a long way toward keeping your pans performing their best.
