Planters Is Celebrating America's 250th With Two Bold New Peanut Flavors
America's 250th anniversary is less than a month away, and brands across the country are finding creative ways to join the celebration. From limited-edition packaging to patriotic product launches, companies are embracing the milestone with special releases designed to capture the red, white, and blue spirit.
Now, Planters is getting in on the action.
The iconic snack brand has announced two new limited-edition peanut flavors inspired by classic American tastes: Ranch Seasoned Peanuts and Sweet Cayenne BBQ Seasoned Peanuts. The launch is part of the brand's broader America250 celebration and arrives during what is already a landmark year for Planters.
In addition to commemorating the nation's semiquincentennial, the company notes that 2026 also marks Planters' 130th anniversary. Meanwhile, Mr. Peanut-the monocle-wearing mascot who has represented the brand for generations-is celebrating his 110th birthday.

Whether you're stocking up for summer road trips, backyard cookouts, or Fourth of July gatherings, Planters is betting these new peanuts will fit right in.
Planters New Limited-Edition Peanut Flavors
The new Ranch Seasoned Peanuts and Sweet Cayenne BBQ Seasoned Peanuts both come packaged in special America250-themed containers.
According to the company, the Ranch Seasoned variety delivers the creamy, herb-forward flavor that has made ranch one of America's favorite condiments, while the Sweet Cayenne BBQ flavor combines smoky barbecue notes with a touch of heat.
The limited-edition products are available exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide while supplies last.
"America's 250th birthday is a once-in-a-generation moment, and we wanted to celebrate it with flavors that feel unmistakably American," said Patrick Horbas, director of marketing for Planters, in a statement. "Whether you're team Ranch or team BBQ, these peanuts are all about bringing people together over bold flavor and shared traditions."

Why Ranch and BBQ Make Sense for America250
The flavor choices are definitely not accidental.
Ranch continues to rank among America's most popular flavor profiles, appearing everywhere from chips and crackers to wings and pizza. Meanwhile, barbecue remains one of the country's most recognizable culinary traditions, particularly during the summer months when grills fire up across backyards and parks nationwide.
Sweet Cayenne BBQ also taps into consumers' growing appetite for sweet-and-spicy flavor combinations, sometimes referred to as "swicy" flavors. The trend has exploded in recent years, showing up in everything from restaurant menus to grocery store snack aisles.
Together, the two varieties give shoppers a choice between a familiar crowd-pleaser and a bolder flavor profile with a little extra kick.
It's a Big Year for Mr. Peanut
The America250 launch coincides with a milestone year for the Planters brand.
Founded in 1896, Planters has spent more than a century building one of the most recognizable names in snack foods. The company's mascot, Mr. Peanut, first appeared in 1916 and remains one of the longest-running brand characters in American advertising.
By tying the launch to both America's 250th anniversary and the brand's own anniversary celebrations, Planters is giving shoppers another reason to take notice of the limited-edition release.
Whether consumers pick up a can for a holiday gathering, a summer cookout, or simply to satisfy a snack craving, the company is hoping the new flavors help make America's 250th birthday a little more flavorful.
