Rusty’s Seafood Market recalled Captain Rusty’s Seafood dips after the Florida Department of Agriculture discovered a snafu that endangered people who live with various food allergies.

Food allergy sufferers and the people who feed them rely on ingredient listings that usually break out the food allergens in a product. What Rusty’s termed in the FDA-posted recall notice as a “breakdown in the company’s labeling process” left the packaging not listing that the dips included fish, shellfish, wheat, eggs, soy or milk.

Depending on the seriousness of the allergy to any of those six ingredients, eating the dip can cause effects from discomfort to death.
