Hungry, Bradenton? These restaurants are open for dine-in, takeout or delivery

Restaurants around Bradenton and Manatee County are reopening for dine-in service with social distancing in place.

As of May 18, restaurants can operate at up to 50 percent seating capacity indoors per an executive order from Gov. Ron DeSantis.

According to the order, restaurant operators are required to maintain at least six feet of distance or “appropriate partitioning” between parties. The order also instructs that bar counters should remained closed, and restaurant owners are still encouraged to make use of outdoor seating if possible.

The public can report violations to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Other requirements for restaurants outlined by the state business department include limiting party sizes to 10 or less people, frequently sanitizing surfaces and equipment and sending home sick or symptomatic food employees.

As before, members of the public who are sick should also stay home.

Takeout, delivery and curbside pickup remain lower risk options for satisfying a craving for your favorite local restaurant.

“Currently there is no evidence of food, food containers, or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19,” the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a FAQ post on its website. “Like other viruses, it is possible that the virus that causes COVID-19 can survive on surfaces or objects. If you are concerned about contamination of food or food packaging, wash your hands after handling food packaging, after removing food from the packaging, before you prepare food for eating and before you eat.”
