Oak & Stone’s much-anticipated rooftop bar not yet ready for downtown Bradenton debut

Visitors at the new Oak & Stone restaurant in downtown Bradenton will have to wait a bit longer for the chance to enjoy the eighth-floor view of the Manatee River.

According to a company spokeswoman, The Deck at Oak & Stone is not debuting alongside the ground-floor portion of the restaurant. The rooftop area will open in the coming weeks.

“Our team is very excited to expand into the thriving Bradenton area,” co-owner Brett Decklever said in a statement. “This was the ideal site for the fourth location of Oak & Stone, and The Deck at Oak & Stone will offer the ultimate rooftop experience.”

Oak & Stone, 1201 First Ave. W., Bradenton, did open the doors of its 4,300-square-foot traditional restaurant Monday morning. Guests can expect the signature beer wall that uses RFID bracelets to track brews poured from the self-serve wall and a menu that ranges from artisan pizza to house-made burgers and salads. There’s also a full bar offering wines and liquor.

The restaurant says it will cycle through nearly 50 different crafts of beer and cider along the beer wall, which will place a “special emphasis” on local breweries like Calusa, Darwin’s and Motorworks, according to a press release.

When it opens, The Deck will offer a more limited menu than the downstairs restaurant. Instead, customers may order shareable plates and light bites. The drink options will also be different, a release said.

The Sarasota-based company opened its first restaurant in Sarasota in 2016. It has since launched additional locations in Bradenton, St. Petersburg and Sarasota. A fifth location is planned for Naples.

Oak & Stone is open 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. - midnight on Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit www.oakandstone.com or call (941) 357-4306.
