Sunday’s Forks & Corks Grand Tasting moves to Feld Entertainment Studios

If you’re planning om going to the Fork & Corks Food and Wine festival Grand Tasting on Sunday, you’ve probably noticed that the weather is looking pretty inhospitable for an outdoor event.

Organizers noticed that too, so they’ve moved this years’ Grand Tasting to Feld Entertainment Studios in Palmetto.

The announcement of the venue change came Thursday, less than 72 hours before the event.

In a statement included in the press release about the change of location, Beth Owen-Cipielewski, the board president of event organizer Sarasota-Manatee Originals, said: “This last-minute change of venue is unfortunate, but out of concern for guest safety, security and the enjoyment of our guests, our board voted unanimously to relocate the event to our back-up venue.

The release didn’t say exactly where at Feld the event would be held, but there’s only one entrance to the campus, at 800 Feld Way, Palmetto, and it’s guarded. No doubt the guards will tell you exactly where to park and enter.

You might want to have your Forks & Corks tickets ready to show the guard, and maybe your ID. An umbrella might be a wise choice also, because you’ll be parking out in the open. and you’ll probably walk at least a few yards to the building.

If you don’t have tickets, you’re out of luck. Forks & Corks has been sold out for weeks.
