Wild Squirrel Climbs Onto Dog's Collar-and He Couldn't Care Less

Most dogs would completely lose their minds if a wild squirrel suddenly climbed onto them; we know ours would. But not Jordan's incredibly patient pup. After a curious squirrel latched onto his collar and refused to let go, the laid-back dog barely reacted, acting as though it was just another day.

He glanced down at his unexpected passenger as if to say, "Well...this is new," then calmly went right back to keeping watch over the yard. At first, we wondered if the squirrel had gotten stuck. But the longer it clung on, the more it seemed like it was simply enjoying the ride...literally. The unusual encounter has viewers laughing, especially since the squirrel appeared far more committed to hanging on than the dog was to getting it off.

Viewers got a kick out of the dog's reaction and had some funny things to say, leaving more than 1,800 comments. @Maria joked, "He's like, Ya'll seen that damn squirrel!?!?" Another commenter added, "Which way did he go, George….which way did he go?"

Squirrels are naturally curious, and according to PBS, some even tease the dogs that live in their neighborhoods. We can't say for sure if that's how this encounter began, but it's possible the squirrel was trying to get the dog's attention. And when the pup didn't react, it may have decided to get a little bolder by climbing aboard.

Whatever the backstory, viewers agreed on one thing: this is one of those moments that sounds completely made up unless there's video proof. As one commenter joked, "I'm glad you caught this on camera because no one would ever believe you if you told them!"
