'Nemesis' Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix
If you're a fan of Nemesis, strap in: Netflix is renewing its mega-hit crime thriller series for Season 2. The news comes a month and a half after the eight-episode inaugural season debuted on the streamer. The show was a boon for the entertainment juggernaut, skyrocketing to No. 1 shortly after its premiere. As of June 18, Nemesis also has a whopping 1.31 billion views.
Here's a synopsis for the uninitiated:
"Nemesis is the story of two men on either side of the law, the tale of what happens when an unstoppable force (an expert criminal) meets an immovable object (a brilliant police detective). What starts as a series that aims to subvert the heist genre at every turn, amped with thrilling life-or-death stakes, family dynamics, and explosive action, actually gives birth to an exploration of what drives us, sustains us, and ultimately destroys us"
The series stars Y'lan Noel as Coltrane Wilder, Matthew Law as Isaiah Stiles, Cleopatra Coleman as Ebony Wilder, Tre Hale as Darren Stroman, Domenick Lombardozzi as Dave Cerullo, Jonnie Park as Chris Choi, Ariana Guerra as Yvette Cruz, Gabrielle Dennis as Candace Stiles, Michael Potts as James Sealey, Stephanie Sigman as Detective Nicolette Harper, and Jeff Pierre as Malik Jacobs. Nemesis hails from co-creators and co-showrunners Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole.
Kemp had this to say regarding the show's renewal:
"I feel blessed to get a Season 2. We thank the fans…it's because of them - there's no other reason. It's them showing up, them talking about it and their huge social media response…We are grateful to Netflix for recognizing the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans."
Marole added:
"Season 2, we're very grateful to have it… We're going to make sure those questions get answered - and even more questions are available for you to answer… Make no mistakes, Season 2 is going to be bigger and better."
Nemesis Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
