Bear Coat Shar-Pei Is Basically a Wrinkly Marshmallow With Legs
I have a serious soft spot for squishy-faced puppies. Give me a wrinkly little dog with a head tilt, and I immediately forget every responsibility I have for the rest of the day. There are simply more important things to do, like admiring tiny noses and wondering what it would feel like to hug them.
That's exactly what happened when I came across Arthur McTaterTot on TikTok. This fluffy Bear Coat Shar-Pei puppy is so perfectly round, wrinkly, and ridiculously soft-looking that he honestly resembles a marshmallow somebody accidentally gave legs. I would like to respectfully request approximately one hour to kiss his little forehead.

In the clip, Arthur McTaterTot sits on the edge of a chair, calmly looking around with the sweetest little puppy head tilt.
His pale blue eyes are absolutely mesmerizing while his creamy gray fluffy coat makes him look more like a stuffed animal than a real dog.
Then there are the wrinkles.
So many wonderful wrinkles.
He somehow manages to look fluffy, squishy, and elegant all at the same time, which feels almost unfair to every other puppy on the internet.

Unlike the traditional Shar-Pei, which has a short, bristly coat, a Bear Coat Shar-Pei has a much longer, softer coat, thanks to a recessive gene. The extra fluff gives these already wrinkly dogs an irresistibly plush appearance that many people compare to teddy bears.
Bear Coat Shar-Peis are not recognized as the breed standard for dog shows, but they're just as lovable as their short-coated relatives. Like all Shar-Peis, they benefit from regular grooming, wrinkle care and early socialization to help them grow into confident companions.
One thing is certain, though.
