Millie Bobby Brown's First Big Release Since ‘Stranger Things 5' Hits Netflix This Week

Millie Bobby Brown took her final bow as Eleven back in December, but this week, the Stranger Things star returns with her first big Netflix project since. Even with its divisive ending, Stranger Things Season 5 will be a tough act to follow. Fortunately, the actor's new release makes for a fun follow-up to Netflix's horror-fantasy series - and it's a sequel, which means established fans will likely tune in.

We're, of course, talking about Enola Holmes 3, which makes its debut on July 1. Netflix's take on Nancy Springer's books is a fun mystery romp, centering Sherlock Holmes' younger sister rather than the iconic detective. Per Netflix, the third addition to the series will follow Brown's character to Malta, where she'll face a wedding she's conflicted about and her most challenging case yet: "Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before."

Judging by the trailer, Enola Holmes 3 will up the action and suspense of the previous two films. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes, and Louis Partridge (Tewkesbury), Himesh Patel (Dr. Watson), Helena Bonham Carter (Eudoria Holmes), and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Moriarty) will be back as well. It's shaping up to be another charming addition to the series and Brown's filmography.

Why 'Enola Holmes 3' Is a Great 'Stranger Things' Follow-Up

The Enola Holmes movies are a big change of pace from Stranger Things, both tonally and story-wise. However, those looking for an entertaining Netflix adventure on the heels of the series' ending will find it here. There are mysteries afoot, one thing it has in common with Brown's other project - though don't expect Demogorgons or Vecna to be at the end of her trail here. It's more grounded than all that, but the film series features lovable characters and great dynamics with plenty of banter. It's a genuinely good time, and it's another way to enjoy Brown's blossoming career.

Enola Holmes 3 will be available on Netflix on Wednesday, July 1.
