Tiny Newborn Kitten Stranded in the Road Gets an Unlikely Second Chance at Life

Sometimes, the cat distribution system chooses us when we least expect it - and fortunately, when this newborn kitten was in need, the right person answered the call of duty.

A woman named Jen was driving when she spotted a newborn kitten who had been left stranded by herself in the road, and she did the only thing she thought to do: Rescue her, of course.

it can't be but about 3 weeks old maybe 4. People are so cruel. I think this kitten found me for a reason. Would you have stopped? #KittenRescue#RescueKitten#CatRescue#KittenSeason#AnimalRescue

She was so tiny that Jen estimated that she was probably only three or four weeks old, which just makes it even more heartbreaking that she was out there all by herself in the middle of nowhere!

Somehow, she could tell that this was a safe person to be around, and instead of being skittish around her, she actually ran to her like she was relieved someone had finally showed up to save her.

Jen ended up taking the kitten home with her, and so many people commented encouraging her to keep the little baby. So what did she decide to do?

This Kitten Is Now Living Her Best Life

Good news: According to the updates she's shared on TikTok so far, Jen decided to keep the kitten, and seems to be giving her all the care that a new kitty needs, from feeding her with a syringe to giving her baths and, of course, plenty of cuddles.

She has named her new baby Junie, and she seems to be settling in with her new family and home just fine. She even seems to love her new dog brother, Bernie!

Replying to @miss_ladylaura One scared little kitten. No mama in sight. No siblings. Just this tiny baby needing help.#KittenRescue#RescueKitten#CatRescue#KittenSeason#AnimalRescue

It's only been a matter of days since Junie joined her new family, but she's already looking so much bigger and stronger than she was that day that her mom found her in the road. And now that she's safe and sound, it's clear that she's a very playful kitten, too.

She's the sweetest, and I love that Jen keeps sharing updates on how she's doing for everyone who fell in love with Junie and her story from that very first video. Her life may have gotten off to a tough start, but things are getting better already!
