Beloved 'Euphoria' Character Never Appeared in Season 3

The final season of HBO's hit show Euphoria officially concluded on Sunday night with a record-breaking series finale that wrapped up one of the most-watched series in the network's history. But while the finale and the final season certainly offered closure, it did not feature one prominent character.

During the production of season 3 of Euphoria, it was reported that Dominic Fike would be reprising his role as Elliot, who appeared in season 2 of the hit show. However, season 3 has now come and gone, and Elliot was nowhere to be found.

Fike Was Supposed to Return

While Fike was left off the initial list of new and returning cast members released by HBO back in February of 2025, Variety reported shortly after that the singer would reprise his role as Elliot in season 3.

While it was not clear what Elliot's role was supposed to be in season 3 of the show, Variety reported that Fike was set to film "a couple of scenes" for the series.

"While he was left off a list of new and returning cast members released by HBO on Friday, Variety can exclusively report that the '3 Nights' singer and actor will indeed reprise his role as Elliot in Sam Levinson's hit high school drama. Fike is set to shoot a couple of scenes for the show next week, sources say," Variety reported back in February of 2025.

Elliot appeared in the second season of Euphoria, where he befriends Rue and Jules while creating a messy love triangle. As a drug addict himself, he also served as an obstacle to Rue's sobriety.

Fike, who is a musician when he was not acting in Euphoria, also performed a song during season 2 of the show which was later released under the title "Elliot's Song" featuring Zendaya on music streaming services.

Elliot Did Not Appear in Season 3

Following Variety's report that Fike would reprise his role as Elliot in season 3, many fans were eagerly awaiting Elliot's appearance in the series. However, that appearance never came.

On Sunday, the 93-minute season finale aired on HBO, and Elliot did not make an appearance, meaning that he was not included in season 3 of the show. With season 3 officially wrapping up the series, that means that Elliot's last appearance in the show came in season 2.

It's not clear why Elliot was excluded from the final season, but given Variety's report that he was set to film "a couple of scenes," it does not sound like he was set to have a major role anyway.
