Golden Retriever-Shepherd Mix Looks Like a Mozzarella Stick With Tiny Legs

I love all dogs. Every single dog in the world deserves a safe and loving home, and every dog is adorable in my eyes. However, I do have a few soft spots when it comes to breeds: Boston Terriers, which I have 3 of, and anything mixed with a Corgi.

Recently, there was a Golden Retriever-Corgi mix who absolutely won everyone's hearts. He's just so short and little... That, coupled with his golden-brown coat, makes him look like a toasty mozzarella stick:

Toast the Golden Pup is actually the cutest dog I've ever seen! He's a rescue, and though he looks like a puppy, he's full-grown! When they got him, they had no idea what breeds he was mixed with, though everybody was sure he was part Corgi.

They did a DNA test on him, and ultimately, they learned that he's a mix of several breeds, including:

• Golden Retriever.
• Korean Village Dog.
• Cocker Spaniel.
• Australian Shepherd.

Of all of the breeds he's mixed with, Golden Retriever is actually one of the lowest percentages: about 15%. Just looking at him, though, he looks like a Golden Retriever with Corgi legs!

He also had a brother, who was a Golden Retriever named Brady. We're not sure if Brady was a rescue, too, but he was a senior boy, happily living his best life. That is, until Toast started causing all of that chaos:

I love his angry eyebrows. Unfortunately for Toast, Brady did pass away last month. Before he passed, though, he made sure to show Toast the ropes... Toast will carry on hating bath time enough for both of them.

Golden Retriever Mixes Are Great Dogs

One thing about a Golden Retriever mix: they're going to inherit some Golden Retriever traits, and that's amazing. Golden Retrievers are one of the sweetest and silliest dog breeds on the planet!

If you want a Golden Retriever mix, especially one who's mixed with a breed like the Australian Shepherd, you need to prepare. These dogs need:

• Frequent exercise.
• A lot of interaction with you.
• A balanced (and often pretty expensive) diet.

Golden Retriever mixes are pretty common in rescues, so if you really do want one, they won't be too hard to find. Personally, I need one who looks just like Toast!
