Becky Lynch Named the 'Greatest WWE Women's Wrestler of All Time'
Less than a decade ago, Becky Lynch was a no-name in professional wrestling. Today, according to Bleacher Report, she is the greatest women's wrestler in WWE history.
The transformation is one of professional wrestling's most compelling stories, and one of its most unlikely to boot. Despite her work in NXT as one of the celebrated Four Horsewomen alongside Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Bayley, Lynch spent years as an overlooked member of the main roster, a performer whose talent was consistently underutilized and whose personality was rarely given room to breathe on television.
That quickly changed in the summer of 2018.
The Turn That Changed Everything for Becky Lynch
Bleacher Report describes Lynch's come up as emerging from "near irrelevancy." She turned heel, betraying Charlotte Flair in a move designed to generate heat from the crowd. The fans had a different idea. Instead of jeering her, arenas across the country erupted in cheers - a response that reflected years of pent-up appreciation for a performer who had been given far too little for far too long.
Lynch leaned into it. The "Man" persona arrived shortly after, and with it came a defiant, rebellious confidence that connected with audiences in a way few wrestling characters do.
The momentum was unstoppable. Within months, Lynch had become one of the most popular performers in WWE - male or female - and her popularity earned her something unprecedented: a spot in the main event of WrestleMania 35 at MetLife Stadium, where she defeated both Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey to leave the building holding both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships simultaneously.
What Makes Becky Lynch the Greatest Women's Wrestler of All Time
Bleacher Report's case for Lynch as the greatest women's wrestler in WWE history rests not just on championships or crowd reactions, but on what she has done for others along the way.
Even when her year-long reign at the top was cut short by her pregnancy, she returned and seamlessly reinvented herself as Big Time Becks - a heel persona that proved instrumental in elevating Bianca Belair entering WrestleMania 38. More recently, she has used her platform to help elevate Lyra Valkyria in similar fashion.
"As big a star as she is, with appearances in mainstream media and on the New York Times Bestseller's List, she has also proven selfless," Bleacher Report wrote.
Now involved in a rivalry with AJ Lee, who she recently defeated in the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship, Lynch shows no signs of stepping back from the position she fought so hard to reach.
