Bradenton man in wheelchair in critical condition after being hit by pickup truck

MANATEE -- A 75-year-old Bradenton man is in critical condition at Blake Medical Center after his wheelchair was struck by a truck at 11:39 a.m. Friday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 53-year-old Parrish man was stopped for traffic northbound on 6160 14th St. W. in a parking lot just north of Bayshore Gardens Parkway, according to the report.

The man in the wheelchair was westbound in the parking lot. The truck driver turned right and struck the wheelchair.

No charges have been filed. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in this accident.
