Florida Highway Patrol says pedestrian in serious condition following hit by Anna Maria driver
MANATEE -- A pedestrian was struck and sustained serious injuries in an accident at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 56-year-old Anna Maria resident was northbound in a 2001 Jaguar XK8 on U.S. 41 in the left lane when an unidentified white female pedestrian in dark clothing walked from the median just north of 57th Avenue West. eastbound as the vehicle approached. The driver did not see the pedestrian and the front of the Jaguar struck her, according to FHP.
The woman was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition.
No charges have been leveled, according to FHP.
Alcohol is not suspected as a factor.
