Nation lacks real answers to our major problems
Nation lacks real answers to our major problems
So, will the real answers please stand up.
It seems everyday, people write into this paper with all kinds of opinions, but no answers to our continuing downfall. Today Donald Trump wants to ban all Muslims from entering the country.
Not a bad idea judging from recent events, but there is a small item called the Constitution in the way. On the other hand we have a president that wants them in; he says that they will need to pass all matters of vetting but how do we do this since most of them have no records?
Trust the government? We're better off trusting the devil! The president is forcing us to take and accept these people, but he will not live among them, as will none of our leaders, but they will bring their terror to our neighborhoods. Any answers?
All manner of people write in about guns they need to be either controlled or banned. We need more laws, they say as the POTUS says. How do we outlaw crime and terrorism? Any answers?
There are some steps that can and need to be taken, such as closing some types of gun buys that circumvent background and criminal records investigation. But there is that Constitution thing again. From all my reading and research, there is virtually no records of law-abiding NRA members shooting up the place, yet they have no answers either and offer no stable suggestions. And I am a lifetime member of the NRA that is somewhat ashamed of their stand in these matters.
The fact of the matter is simple: Until we get real leadership in Washington and in our state governments taking real responsibility for their positions, we will not have any real answers.
