Bradenton police name Mark Roberts top officer

BRADENTON -- Mark Roberts has been named Officer of the Month for November by the Bradenton Police Department.

Roberts responded to a call Oct. 3 in which a 6-year-old autistic child had wandered away from his home.

Roberts learned the child's family was in need during the investigation. When he found the child safe at a nearby Walmart, the youngster said he wanted to shop for toys. Roberts reached out to Walmart, which later donated toys to the child.

Roberts often goes above and beyond his normal duties to see to children and families in need, according to a press release from Chief of Police Michael Radzilowski.

BPD taps dispatcher as top Civilian Employee for month

BRADENTON -- Dispatcher Supervisor Cynthia Dudar has been named Civilian Employee of the Month by the Bradenton Police Department.

Dudar, employed by the BPD for 18 years, began as a dispatcher and was promoted to supervisor of the Communications Department in 2000.

Dudar oversees the Communications Center, works long hours and is dedicated, according to Chief of Police Michael Radzilowski in a press release.
