'America's Got Talent' comes to Sarasota
The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is becoming a popular stop for TV talent show tours.
America's Got Talent" is coming to Van Wezel on Thursday. It's the first time the show's tour has come to the Bradenton-Sarasota area.
"America's Got Talent" is bringing an all-star lineup, featuring some of the most popular contestants from the show's entire 10-year run.
And because "AGT" isn't devoted to one art form, such as music or dance, the lineup for tonight's show features a variety of acts, including a comedian, a magician, a dance company and musicians.
Among the performers scheduled to appear are season eight comedian Taylor Williamson, country singer Emily West (the season nine runner-up), season eight's comedic hand-balancing duo the Kristef Brothers, the "junk rock" performers Recycled Percussion (from season four) and magician Smoothini (season nine).
Details: 8 p.m. Nov. 5, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Tickets: $35-$70. Information: 941-953-3368, vanwezel.org.
