Timothy A. Knowles, principal with the law firm of Porges, Hamlin, Knowles & Hawk, P.A., has been elected board chairman for Centerstone of Florida, Bradenton. Knowles has practiced in the firm since 1984 with a focus on business transactions including, but not limited to, real estate and banking transactions. In addition to Centerstone, he is a member and past board president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County Inc., past member and chairman of the Manatee County Historical Commission, and is the president of the Florida Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs Inc. Jordan Hallam has been promoted to group vice president and director of business banking for Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida. Hallam joined Gateway Bank in August 2011, as vice president/commercial loan officer, and is responsible for growing the bank's commercial loan production and in particular, Small Business Administration loans. He began his career in banking seven years ago as a business banking relationship manager. Hallam is active in the community, currently serving on the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County's Business Climate Committee. A graduate of the University of Florida, Hallam holds a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Sarasota County, and a 2014 graduate of the Florida School of Banking program offered through the University of Florida.
Teresa A. Kelly has been named the executive director of the Health Council of West Central Florida Inc. The private, non-profit agency serves residents in Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee and Polk counties. Before her appointment, Kelly had served as a business development and planning director as well as other planning and programming capacities at the Health Council of West Central Florida and Suncoast Health Council for more than 15 years.
JMX Brands has hired Paul Brasacchio to be manager of its Sarasota retail store opening in December. After more than 10 years selling Amish-made furniture online, JMX Brands is opening its first DutchCrafters retail store at 3805 Lockwood Ridge Road. Brasacchio has served as store or sales manager at Matters Brothers Furniture, Florida Leather Gallery, Baer's Furniture and Robb & Stucky. In his role at JMX Brands, Brasacchio will manage merchandising, sales and staff supervision for the store.
Emily Whitt has joined Carter Psychology Center of Bradenton. She is bilingual
and fluent in Spanish. Whitt treats children, adolescents and their families for a variety of clinical issues. She has specialized training in eating disorders and the treatment of trauma.
Prior to joining Carter Psychology Center, Whitt was the program psychologist at The Eating Disorder Center of Alabama and a member of the eating disorder treatment team at Miami Children's Hospital. She received her doctorate in psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.
Matthew Brockway and Natalie Greenberg-Coldiron have joined the marketing committee for Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg, P.A. The committee is a voluntary group responsible for decisions involving advertising, marketing materials, brand positioning and community contributions. Brockway has been a shareholder at Icard Merrill since 2008. He is board certified in the area of real estate law.
Brockway earned his law degree from the University of Florida, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering.
Greenberg-Coldiron joined the firm in 2013 as an associate attorney practicing real estate law. She graduated from the University of Central Florida where she earned a bachelor's degree in legal studies and business administration. She earned her law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2012.
