Robin Zander of Cheap Trick headlines WOBtoberfest in Sarasota

The first day of WOBtoberfest -- the Oktoberfest celebrations at Sarasota's World of Beer -- sounds like a huge amount of fun. There's seven hours packed with lots of great beers, food and live music from popular area bands SowFlo and the Boneshakers.

The second day promises to be even better. It run a full 10 hours, and the music lineup is highlighted by Robin Zander, the lead singer of Cheap Trick.

It's all happening Friday and Saturday in the World of Beer parking lot, and it all free. On Friday, SowFlo, a reggae band, takes the stage at 5 p.m. and the Boneshakers, who play rock and rockabilly, go on at 8. On Saturday, southern rock band Hail Dale plays at 2 p.m., and long-time local favorites Twinkle and Rock Soul Radio play at 5 p.m. Zander's set is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
