Take Stock in Children heads to Tampa Bay Rays game

BRADENTON -- The Tampa Bay Rays and Helios Education Foundation recognized a new class of Take Stock in Children scholars for 2015-16 during a pregame presentation at Tropicana Field.

The students enjoyed some time out on the field and a reception on the Trop's "Back Porch" before the exciting extra-innings game against the Red Sox on Sept. 13.

Beginning in 2012, the Rays and Helios Education Foundation teamed up to provide $1 million in college scholarships for students participating in Take Stock in Children in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Sarasota, Manatee and Pasco counties over a five-year period.

The Rays and Helios Education Foundation partnership provides selected students Take Stock in Children scholarships, a program aimed at giving students the financial resources and mentorship support they need to successfully achieve a postsecondary education at any Florida state college.
