BRADENTON -- A Louisiana-based developer of Another Broken Egg restaurants has purchased acreage and a retail building in downtown Bradenton.
RR Company of America of Lafayette, La., paid $1.15 million for about 1.2 acres at 825 Ninth St. W. on Oct. 22, according to Manatee County property records. A 14,000-square-foot building on the property is home to Kingdom Life Christian Church.
RR Co. purchased the property from its Holmes Beach-based owner shortly after a "for sale" sign went up mid-summer, said listing agent David Fletcher of Wagner Realty. Fletcher said that while the buyer's representatives did not say much about the intended future for the property, they indicated it will not remain a church long-term. The transaction included the 73-year-old commercial building as well as a vacant lot behind it.
The property was originally listed for $1.3 million.
Kingdom Life is leasing the building on the property.
Calls made to RR Co.'s president of restaurant development Tuesday were not immediately returned. The company has a broad portfolio of commercial and retail development, including hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and multi-family complexes.
Double R Restaurant Group, a company affiliated with RR Co., owns and operates several Another Broken Egg restaurants, including locations in Baton Rouge, La. and North Carolina.
