Mission BBQ, patriotic barbecue restaurant, files plans for $1.5M Bradenton location
BRADENTON -- Mission BBQ filed plans Monday with Manatee County to bring its patriotic barbecue restaurant to Bradenton.
Plans include construction for a spot in Cortez Plaza at the corner of U.S. 41 and Cortez Road with a declared value of $1.5 million. Other tenants in the plaza include PetSmart, Chick-fil-A, LA Fitness and Chuck E Cheese's.
The first Mission BBQ opened on Sept. 11, 2011 in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. Every day at lunchtime, the restaurant salutes servicemen and servicewomen.
The barbecue chain is in seven states including Florida and has plans to open a restaurant in Tampa on the University of South Florida campus.
