Joey D's opens Manatee Avenue location in Bradenton, plans for Palmetto restaurant
BRADENTON -- Joey D's, a Chicago-style pizzeria and restaurant, will open a fourth location today at 6401 Manatee Ave. W. from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tommy Dennis said he and his brother Bobby hope to open a fifth location in Palmetto in February.
The Dennis brothers renovated the space on Manatee Avenue, formerly an Atlanta Bread Company, over the last five months. They hoped to open in September but some customized equipment, renovations and permitting processes took longer than they expected. The Manatee Avenue restaurant passed its state health inspection on Friday. It's menu will be the same found at the other three Joey D's locations; the original Joey D's at 4304 14th St. W., in Sarasota at 211 N. Tamiami Trail next to the Ritz-Carlton hotel, and at 3811 Kenny Drive off Cattlemen and Bee Ridge roads.
At the new location, Joey D's customers can look forward to 15 types of draft beer and one new addition to Joey D's; tabletop taps fitted with football helmets.
After today, the Manatee Avenue Joey D's will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
