A new McDonald’s restaurant is coming to Manatee County, building records say

The Golden Arches could be coming to a new shopping center planned for Parrish.

McDonald’s recently filed paperwork with Manatee County Development Services to build a restaurant at 12303 U.S. 301 N. at the Parrish Town Center.

The fast-food giant’s proposed space would be near the corner of U.S. 301 and State Road 62, according to building records.

The Parrish Town Center is a planned shopping center with an unnamed 48,000-square-foot grocery store anchoring the plaza, as well as two big box retail stores, a gas station and other businesses.

McDonald’s is planning a double drive-thru restaurant with nearly 50 parking spaces on a roughly 1-acre lot, according to building records.

McDonald’s now part of plans for Parrish Town Center

In addition to McDonald’s and the grocery store, the Parrish Town Center has pending leases on six other businesses. Future tenants have not been announced. There are a total of 15 spaces for the development.

Developer Belleair Capital Group Parrish Plantation, LLC proposed adding a cell tower to the project at a neighborhood workshop meeting earlier this year, though it would be placed, if approved, further away from the Parrish Town Center. It is planned near Spencer Parrish Road and State Road 62.

While previously approved by county officials, the development has not broken ground yet.

McDonald’s plans new Manatee County location

Dick and Mac McDonald founded McDonald’s in 1940 in San Bernardino, California. It started as a barbecue restaurant with a drive-thru and car hop service, before changing to a nine-item menu that featured a 15-cent hamburger, according to company history.

Ray Kroc franchised the first McDonald’s in the 1950s and bought the company from the brothers in 1961 for $2.7 million, according to company history.

There are more than 38,000 locations in six different continents, according to company history.
