Swedish candy shop with ‘real ingredients’ announces new location at UTC mall
Candy lovers can rejoice with the latest addition to The Mall at University Town Center.
ScandyCandy is opening inside the mall this year, according to a Benderson Development news release. ScandyCandy features authentic Swedish candy imported from Sweden.
According to the company, the candy does not contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors or fake sweeteners.
ScandyCandy says its approach to candy making puts an emphasis on “real ingredients, bold flavors, and a cleaner kind of treat you can feel good about.”
Brothers Calle and Wille Olsen founded ScandyCandy in 2025 after being nostalgic for lördagsgodis or “Saturday candy,” that is popular in their native Sweden, according to company history. The company has two South Florida locations. One store is in Miami and the other is in Coral Gables.
The UTC store marks the company’s third brick-and-mortar. An exact opening date was not announced.
Customers can mix and match candy for a customizable bag or choose from its list of mixes. ScandyCandy has a sweet mix, a sour mix and a sweet and sour mix.
“From sweet to sour, chewy to fizzy and fruity — it’s the best of everything, all in one place,” the company says on its website.
The company also has gluten-free and vegan options.
In addition, ScandyCandy sells Marabou, a Swedish chocolate brand.
The most popular items include a Bubs and Swedish candy mix, the ScandyCandy mix and Bubs Raspberry Skulls Mini pre-packaged candy.
Bubs is a Swedish brand that has various candy shapes, such as skulls, in its bags.
