‘Not the ending we envisioned.’ A Bradenton brewery is closing after 10 years
A Bradenton brewery is closing its doors after a decade in Manatee County.
3 Keys Brewing & Eatery, 2505 Manatee Ave. E., will serve its last beers on Sunday, owners Gabe Schmitz and Tina Yeung announced in a social media post.
The husband and wife duo purchased the brewery in 2019. Jeff and Cathy Douglas opened the brewery in 2016.
“Like so many small businesses, the continued slowdown in the economy has made it no longer possible for us to keep going,” Schmitz and Yeung wrote in the Facebook post. “It is not the ending we envisioned, but we are at peace knowing we gave it everything we had and that you were with us every step of the way.”
The 8,000-square-foot brewery produces beer from roughly 200 recipes, the Bradenton Herald previously reported, as well as serving sandwiches, burgers, tacos, salads, flatbreads, appetizers and desserts.

Customers with reward points have until Sunday to redeem them toward a drink or any menu item. Customers also have until Sunday to pick up their mug if they are part of the 3 Keys Mug Club.
“We will be open this weekend and would love nothing more than to see your faces one last time,” the Facebook post said. “Come raise a glass with us, share a story and let’s give 3 Keys the send-off it deserves.”
Fans of the brewery and restaurant mourned its closure on social media.
“So many great times, great beers, great food with you all from Day 1,” one comment said. “My family and I will be so sad to see y’all leave our neighborhood. Thank you for some very special times. Cheers.”
Another said, “Noooo! I love the island hopper burger, and being part of the mug club! Probably one of the best brewery staffs around! Sad to see this.”
“Oh man, what a drag!!” another comment said. “Thank you guys for all you did for our community (and our band!)!!! Loved being a part of it!”
