A mom-and-daughter coffee shop is opening in Palmetto. Take a sneak peek
Kaliya Taylor was 14 when she first approached her mother, Autumn Stosick, about wanting to open a coffee shop.
Six years later, that dream has become a reality.
The Daily Brew Station is scheduled to hold a soft opening for friends and family on April 28, with a grand opening to follow on May 5.
The shop began as a coffee trailer in August 2025.
Taylor, who is also a real estate agent, found the space at 551 17th St. W. in Palmetto available through a real estate broker friend.
“I came and I looked at it, and it had the whole build-out,” Taylor said. “I was like, ‘It’s perfect.’”
The coffee trailer made appearances through Manatee County and as far south as Suncoast Technical College in Sarasota. The brick-and-mortar storefront will add food to the menu.
What’s on the menu?
Items such as biscuits and gravy, muffins, croissants, cinnamon rolls, bagel sandwiches and mini pancakes are on the food menu.
The mini pancakes with toppings are either $6 for five or $11 for 10, while bagel sandwiches are $8. Other food items run between $3 and $6.
Some popular drinks include the cinnamon roll latte and s’mores latte. The cinnamon roll latte features an espresso with white mocha, brown sugar and whipped cream cinnamon. The s’mores latte is an espresso with toasted marshmallow, whipped cream and graham cracker.
“We always do the fun stuff,” Taylor said.
Stosick said she loves the lavender haze, which is an espresso with lavender, vanilla and sweet foam.
The cinnamon roll latte, s’mores latte and lavender haze cost either $6 or $7 depending on the size.
The Daily Brew Station also serves a variety of iced and hot beverages, and has non-dairy options for drinks with almond, oat and coconut milk offered.
The regular coffee drink menu mostly costs between $3-$6 for a beverage.
From a dream to storefront
When Taylor asked her mom about opening a coffee shop at the age of 14, Stosick told her to give her a business plan.
“She came back with colored gel pens and had a whole business plan of her design and what she wanted and different coffees,” Stosick said. “So, unfortunately, at that time we couldn’t do it. But at [age] 20, we bought our mobile coffee trailer, ran that for a little under a year, and then this opportunity came about.”
Less than a mile to the west of The Daily Brew Station lies Palmetto High with the Palmetto Youth Center sitting a stone’s throw to the coffee shop’s east and the Palmetto Public Works Department is on its south end.
“This is a good central location,” Stosick said. “But I know marketing and I know that we have a good product.”
How much seating is there?
The shop can seat around 20 between tables and a couch placed under a wall sign reading, “Sunshine and Coffee.”
Stosick said they plan to make a photo wall once they’re up and running.
The Daily Brew Station, which will also have a Wi-Fi hotspot for customers, will be open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
